St Mark’s Church in Zagreb

The 13th-century church represents one of Zagreb’s most illustrative and signature buildings.

Its colorful tiled roof  displays the medieval coats of arms of Croatia, Dalmatia and Slavonia on the left side, and the emblem of Zagreb on the right. It is open to public at Mass times.
The interior contains  the Gothic portal, composed of 15 figures in shallow niches as well as sculptures by Ivan Meštrovic – Croatia’s most famous sculptor.

And if you are visiting between late April to October you will have the opportunity to witness guard-changing ceremony outside the church every Saturday and Sunday at noon.
